The Best Free Apps to Edit Videos from your Couch

By adding video to your Blog, Email Campaigns and Social media you are adding value to your audience, offering better conversions to brands and working on your own growth.

Emotional, Educational, Empathetic and Engaging are the four E’s you need to keep in mind while creating your video content. Capturing video content is easy – even if you are camera-shy, you can also start by shooting product; but what about editing?

What are the best apps to edit on-the-go, or should we say on-the-couch? We have rounded up the best free video apps our CDbabes are using and loving to share with you. From capturing, editing and even adding special effects, there is an app waiting for you.

Top Free Video Apps

  1. Pocket Video Editor & Maker: allows you to create, edit and export HD videos for different platforms: Website, Newsletters Youtube, Instagram, Facebook,  Pinterest,… you name it! This video app is specifically designed for iPhone.
  2. iMovie: lets you edit and export your videos but also has 14 trailer templates to allow you to create a Hollywood-style video. Picking a trailer template, you will have access to graphics and original scores by some of the world’s top film composers. If Hollywood is not your vibe, you can pick one of the 8 unique themes with matching titles, transitions, and music or simply create your own project from scratch.
  3. InShot: This is an oldie gut goldie video editor app. You can add music, voice-over, text, emojis and even filters to your video adjusting a simple timeline. The only downside is that after a few videos where you can remove the sub-mark, you will need to pay a fee to remove the watermark forever.
  4. Canva: This is one of our recommended tools to create graphics in a super-easy way. When we saw the video feature coming to the tools we were happy but know Canva’s team also has an app just dedicated to editing videos – yeah!
Canva: IG Story, Video Collage gives you access to more than 700 free Story templates (that you can use for different platforms) together with quizzes, interactive Q&As and quotes layouts. If you are already a Canva lover as we are, you should try it!
