3 Key Ingredients of High-Quality Content

Over the years, we’ve discovered that high-quality content never goes out of fashion. It was useful last year, it’s useful today and will be two years from now. Doesn’t matter the industry or audience type, below are key ingredients of a high-quality content.

Ensure Your Content Topic is Relevant and Well-researched.

The first step in creating high-quality content is to make sure that it contains what your audience wants. What interests do they have? What 'pain points’ are they trying to fix that led them to you or your site? You’re creating content for your audience and so, you need to consider what they actually want to stick around for.

So, when you’re ready to write, do some research on your topic first. Start by finding out what people are searching for using the current SERPs (search engine results pages) for your target keyword.

Based on these results, you’ll know the format and type of content that’s ranking, enabling you to mimic (not copy and paste) that style for your own pieces.

Another thing to do is to find out what people are asking about your topic on platforms like social media, Answer the Public, forums, and Q&A sites like Quora.

Position Your Content as Valuable and Helpful.

Try to imagine yourself as an active member of your target audience. What kind of information are you looking for? Your content is an opportunity to show you really do know your stuff and want to provide value to your community.

And you’re right…there are no new ideas.

But adding your own perspective can (and should) make your content more interesting. From using new examples and relatable experiences, to even adding some humor, you can take a topic from meh to intriguing.

Keep in mind that search engines generally rank highly those sites visitors find most useful.

Create Interesting and Engaging Content.

To easily get your message across to your audience, you want to make sure it’s easy for them to engage with your content.

A few tips:

  • Open your piece with a lively first paragraph that gets readers excited about reading on.
  • Use stories to support your point. It will get people’s imaginations going like nothing else and really help you communicate your point while raising engagement.
  • Pose thought-provoking questions that relate to the article throughout the piece, and especially at the end. The effect is to help readers reflect on your content as well as encourage them to leave a comment.

The most important thing? Have fun while creating your content! Let your personality and authenticity shine through.
This helps you stand out from your competitors and help your audience know you and your brand.

Now, it’s time to get out there and start creating some high-quality content for your audience. Keep at it and soon, you’ll see lasting changes that reward your efforts!
