This week 20th November 2020:

  • So Youtube has now started to add ads to all Youtube videos regardless of whether the content creator wishes to or not, or if they can monetise from the ads or not. 😕 …not everyone is happy about these changes. As you can imagine, one of the competitive advantages of having no ads below a certain audience size is that it aids in growth to reach a point of monetisation where ads are embedding in. This indicates that there could be repercussions overall in growing your engagement within a fledgeling channel. Ensuring that you’re consistently generating valuable and watchable content has never been more important on Youtube. Read more about the changes here.
  • Instagram has expanded its Guide functionality to make it easier to curate products and content within the channel. It’s clear to see how this could eventually become a purely shippable experience. As with all Instagram updates, the early bird catches the worm. Learn more about how you can begin using these new IG features ahead of the Holidays features now.
  • Twitter launched its stories..ahem…FLEETS…finally visual content can be shared in real-time to add further value in updates.
  • CD BABE SPOTLIGHT: We love a good product launch, and Fraiche Living is adding yet another digital product to their repertoire just in time for Christmas! These beautiful digital prints are ready for sale now. Learn more about Tori’s journey to starting this new side of her business in her Digital Prints launch post.

  • With the increase in e-commerce sales in 2020, it’s now more important than ever to bring the brick-and-mortar experience online. Next year, Amazon is looking to launch Amazon Explore, a virtual experiences marketplace. Amazon Explore will be a series of live-streamed sessions with e-commerce integration. Imagine a workout session where the host is showcasing the products you can buy. Amazon is also investing in its Live platform and on the reality show “Making The Cut” transforming them into a fashion shopping channel. That means new revenue opportunities coming for you but also shows you the e-commerce experience evolution.
  • Instagram changed its home screen this week after years without an update. Where you used to have the add the post button, now you have a “Reels” tab. Just next to the Reels, you now have a “Shop” tab. IGTV didn’t make it to the new home screen so you can see where Instagram is focusing on. Master your Reels with our strategic tips.
  • It’s a Tupperware virtual party! With a traditional model, the brand Tupperware is becoming more digital since March. Facebook, Zoom and even TikTok are the channels helping the brand to see the company’s biggest growth period in two decades. An amazing case study to consider when we talk about pivoting your strategy during a pandemic.

This week 6th November 2020:

  • There’s a lot that can be said about learning from outside the industry. As content creators gear up to discuss gifting with their audiences and how to make its season special (in a starkly different set up) we advise learning how brands should best tackle revenue generation. Understanding how to enhance revenue generation will not only up your own affiliate game but allow for more accurate and ROI driven brand partnership proposals. This week 30th October 2020:

  • IG has now extended the max IG Live limit to a whopping 4 hours. Furthermore, IG has now allowed for content creators to archive Lives in a similar fashion to IG Stories. Our advice: like with all IG updates, you want to act fast and get on these changes quick. By no means do you have to create a 4 hour video…. but it’s definitely worth using the newly updated platform soon to ensure that you’re maximising the updates to your advantage. Think of this as getting on IG’s good side.

#CDBABE @demibanging first started blogging at TWELVE years old on YouTube! She loved makeup so much that she figured out how to grow a following large enough for beauty brands to reach out to her to try their products – all of this before she even had a license to drive! She then created a blog as a central hub for all photos and to connect with a greater community. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This year she adopted the mantra ‘community over competition’ because “in the world of blogging there is so much to go around that there is really no true competition. We’re all so different and we all offer different things and we all have different journeys.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💻💄: https://demibang.com/ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CD Babe Stories: A series which highlights incredible women changing the game in digital.

The moment that changed it all for Dorcas was when she saw client’s enthusiastic reactions when it came to fashion and style advice at any budget. Growing up, a job in fashion wasn’t to be taken seriously, but she knows that to be successful you need to remain true to who you are and leave everything with that personal touch that only you have! Her best advice: “In this business persistence and determination go a long way. If you truly love something you have to stay at it long enough. You can’t give up. You have to work at it every day and that’s how you succeed.” ✨❣️: https://stylepashion.com/ CD Babe Stories: A series which highlights incredible women changing the game in digital.
